darshan Requests Permission to Travel Abroad
The City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru has deferred its decision on actor Darshan`s plea for permission to travel overseas.. Although the decision was initially expected on May 29, the court officially reserved the verdict on May 30.
Darshan, currently out on conditional bail, submitted the petition under Section 439(1)(b) of the Criminal Procedure Code, seeking approval to travel to Dubai and Europe from June 1 to June 25.The actor is the second accused in the high-profile murder case of his fan, Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old from Chitradurga. The case also includes his partner Pavithra and 15 others, all of whom were arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of the victim.
The Special Public Prosecutor has strongly opposed Darshan’s plea, arguing that granting him international travel rights poses a significant flight risk and could obstruct the ongoing trial.
After being granted bail, Darshan has resumed work on his upcoming film, Devil.. While his movements were initially limited to Bengaluru, he previously secured court approval to travel domestically. His latest request aims to extend those permissions to include international destinations.
