In a truly historic moment, the film, starring Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa in pivotal roles, received a thunderous 9-minute standing ovation from the international audience. This was a particularly significant achievement, as Homebound was the only Indian feature film to be screened at the 2025 edition of the festival.

Homebound is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, with Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier as co-producers. Adding to its global prestige, Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese serves as an executive producer for the film.
