Archana Puran Singh
Dubai, a city synonymous with luxury and order, recently became the unexpected backdrop for a disheartening incident involving actor and reality show judge Archana Puran Singh. Known for her infectious laughter on "The Great Indian Kapil Show," Archana, along with her husband, Parmeet Sethi, and sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan, embarked on a family vacation hoping for thrills and safety.
Their target: indoor skydiving at iFly Dubai. However, what was meant to be an exhilarating adventure quickly turned into a freefall into digital deceit, as Archana shared on her YouTube channel that her family fell prey to an online ticketing scam.
"We had booked three slots in iFly Dubai, but this lady is saying that we have no booking," Archana revealed in her video, visibly disappointed. "We have been scammed because the website where we made the payment is not theirs. We have already paid, and the tickets are not cheap… Dubai mein hamare paise doob gaye (we lost our money in Dubai)." The family discovered that no reservation existed under their name.
The unexpected nature of the scam was particularly galling. Dubai`s global reputation for strict cyber regulations and robust law enforcement made such an incident seem impossible. "I never expected this to happen in Dubai," Archana stated. "There are such strict rules and laws. People are scared of doing such things." Parmeet Sethi echoed her sentiments, adding, "I am shocked… Thousands of rupees are gone." He even paid for the legitimate tickets in cash, joking with a hint of irony, “Pata chale yahi scam hai” (What if this too turns out to be a scam?).

While Archana did not disclose the exact amount lost, her experience serves as a stark reminder that online fraud can ensnare even the most vigilant. Scams are no longer easily identifiable, often masked by polished websites and enticing offers. Archana’s vlog, though infused with her family’s characteristic humour, carries a vital warning: in an increasingly digital world, verifying the authenticity of online bookings is not just advisable, it`s essential for a secure experience.

The Booking That Vanished
Archana, who frequently vlogs about her family life, ed their Dubai stay. The excitement for their indoor skydiving experience at iFly Dubai, a renowned facility in City Centre Mirdif, was palpable. This state-of-the-art wind tunnel offers the adrenaline rush of a skydive without the need to jump from a plane. Yet, upon their arrival, their anticipation dissolved into confusion."We had booked three slots in iFly Dubai, but this lady is saying that we have no booking," Archana revealed in her video, visibly disappointed. The Subtle Red Flags
Upon reflection, Archana’s sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan, started noticing subtle red flags they had initially overlooked. Aaryamann recalled a technical glitch during booking where a four-minute flight duration suddenly changed to two minutes upon redirection to another page. Ayushmaan also pointed out a "Ramadan discount" offered on the fraudulent site, despite the holy month having long concluded. By the time they realised, the fake website had vanished without a trace. While Archana did not disclose the exact amount lost, her experience serves as a stark reminder that online fraud can ensnare even the most vigilant.
