Within a span of a year, Akshay Kumar tested positive for Covid for the second time due to which he is unable to attend Cannes this year. He took it to his Twitter handle to announce the news.

Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid. Will rest it out. Loads of best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there.

Akshay Kumar was supposed to make an appearance on the carpet alongside Shekhar Kapoor, Pooja Hegde and A R Rahman.

This is the second time he tested positive for Covid, he shared in April 2021, "I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for covid . Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon,"

The Bachchhan Paandey actor will soon be seen in 'Prithviraj' alongside Manushi Chillar and 'Bade Miya Chote Miya' with Tiger Shroff will arrive on Christmas 2023.
