Vicky Kaushal is one of the most energetic actors when it comes to emoting through dance and songs. His latest song, Kanhiya Twitter Pe Aaja, has been trending all across the internet. The song celebrates the spirit of Lord Krishna. The actor will be next seen in Yash Raj Films' The Great Indian Family, co-starring Manushi Chillar, Manoj Pahwa, and Kumud Mishra.

To promote his upcoming movie, the actor came down to Radio City and spilled some interesting beans. Ahead of Janmashtami, Vicky Kaushal's song Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja hits the right spiritual and musical chords. In an exclusive interview with Radio City, the actor opened up about his fondest memories of Krishna Janmashtami.

Vicky Kaushal shares his Janmashtami memories.

Born and raised in the chawls of Malad, Mumbai, Vicky admits seeing and celebrating enough and more Dahi Handis on Janmashtami. For the uninitiated, Dahi Handi is an exciting and competitive event celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna.

With Janmashtami 2023 around the corner, the actor opened up about his fondest memories of the festival. In an exclusive interview with RJ Sudarshan and RJ Palak, Vicky recalled the cons of having a great height.

When asked about Dahi Handi, he said, "We used to watch all of those a lot in and near our buildings. But I never got a chance to break the matka. Since I was tall, I had to give support to the shorter ones who would climb the human pole and break the handi. Woh hero wala moment mera hua he nahi kabhi (I couldn't have that hero moment ever.)"

RJ Sud and RJ Palak took the Manmarziyaan actor down memory lane and asked him about what he enjoyed doing with his great Indian family in the pass time.

To which Vicky Kaushal said, "When we were young, we used to watch this iconic TV show called Hum Paanch. We used to come back from school, and it used to stream during lunch hours. Our entire family used to religiously watch that show."

Vicky Kaushal on working with Yash Raj Films

The Great Indian Family marks Vicky's first ever YRF movie. Despite having done a great body of work, the actor is yet to be a mainstream YRF hero. When asked what his gut's immediate reaction was when he got a call from the production giant, he thought it was for a high-octane action film.

"I thought it must be an out-and-out action movie with total masala and cars flying everywhere. When I went to the YRF office, there was no introduction to the story. They straight-up jumped to narrating the script. Half an hour passed and I wondered, there's not even a slap till now, let alone flying cars or any action sequences," Vicky Kaushal laughed as he narrated the same.

He further added, "Having said that, there's a lot more action in family dramas than in action movies. You can break free after robbing a bank, but in family scenes, there's no escapism."
