"Khopdi tod saale ka!", said the Hera Pheri fans about the rumours of casting other actors instead of the original one in Hera Pheri 3. However, the fans are in for a treat because the cult classic is coming back with its third part starring the terrific trio - Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty.
The franchise that started with 2000 release Hera Pheri went ahead to adapt the second part, Phir Hera Pheri in 2006, with Rimi Sen and Bipasha Basu being an add on to the cast. During the lockdown, rumours were the original cast was in talks to be replaced with other actors. To name some names, Abhishek Bachchan was supposedly to be a part Hera Pheri 3.
However, Firoz Nadiadwala recently said, "You'll get to see it very soon with the same star cast - Akshay ji, Pareshbhaiand Sunielji. The story is in place, and we are working on certain modalities. It'll be made in the same way, retaining the innocence of the characters."
Nadiadwala also revealed that the director of Hera Pheri 3 is yet to be finalised. The previous two movies of the Hera Pheri franchise were directed by Priyadarshan, an acclaimed name in the Malyalam film industry.
If we were to be precise, Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri, both are a cnematic presentation of memes that define our daily lives. Because every time a friend plans to meet on a weekday, what do we say? "Sunday ko aana huh! Mast naha dho ke aana!"
