APRIL 12,2024

On April 11, two highly anticipated Bollywood movies were released: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Maidaan. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, while Maidaan features Ajay Devgn. This release date pits the two Bollywood superstars against each other for box office supremacy. However, this isn't the first time the superstars have faced off against each other. Here are other instances where Akshay Kumar's and Ajay Devgn's films' releases clashed at the box office.

Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha vs. Angaaray

This rivalry started on July 24, 1998, when Devgn and Kajol's movie Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha's release clashed with Akshay Kumar's Angaaray. In this tussle, the former came out victorious, as Angaaray didn't get much acclaim at the box office.

Dhadkan vs. Deewane

In 2000, the two superstars clashed again when Dhadkan and Deewane were released on August 11. Contrary to the past, Akshay Kumar's film Dhadkan received critical and public acclaim this time and became one of the most successful movies of 2000.

Thank God vs. Ram Setu

Just last year, the action superheroes clashed again after the release of Ajay Devgn's Thank God and Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu. The former starred Siddharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, while the latter featured Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. In this tussle, Ram Setu performed better at the box office, racking up 93 crores compared to Thank God's 48.92 crores.

In addition, Bollywood stars have had other box office face-offs in the past. In 2010, the release of the films Tees Maar Khan and Toonpur ka Superhero pitted the stars against each other. During that time, Ajay's film did not perform well, while Akshay's film, Tees Maar Khan, was a semi-hit. Similarly, in 2004, both actors had their films Ab Tumhare Hawaale Watan Saathiyo and Raincoat released. At that time, Akshay Kumar's patriotic film outperformed Ajay Devgn's romantic drama.
