Written and directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story marks its five-year anniversary today. The film is a biopic of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team. The plot of the film is based on the life events of the former Indian skipper. The film stars late Sushant Singh Rajput, Kiara Advani, Disha Patani, Anupam Kher and others. Here are some highlights of the film.
1. Interestingly, the film was shot in real life locations, where Dhoni spent his entire childhood. It was shot in Ranchi, Jharkhand at his home where his parents still reside.
2. During filming Sushant was asked to recreate Dhoni’s famous ‘helicopter shot’ and by the end of the first day, he got a hairline fracture.
3. The film also features Dhoni’s real life school teacher in the first half.
4. The film was declared tax free in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
5. Sushant was trained for thirteen months to imitate Dhoni’s batting style.
6. The proposal of a biopic was put forward by Dhoni’s manager Arun Pandey.
