The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is on, and India is all set to take over Bangladesh in style. Virat Kohli will be a key player as the men in blue play their first match. He will have a chance to break multiple records during the eight-team tournament. Read on to know more.

1. Fastest 14,000 runs in ODI
Kohli has scored 13,963 runs in 297 ODI matches for India. If he manages to score 37 runs in the Champions Trophy, he will become the fastest batter in the world to score 14,000 runs in One Day Internationals.
As of now, only two players have scored more than 14,000 runs—Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara.

2. 3rd leading run scorer in international cricket
Since making his international debut against Sri Lanka in 2008, the former Indian skipper has played 545 matches across formats and scored 27,381 runs. If Virat Kohli scores more than 103 runs in the Champions Trophy, he will overtake Ricky Ponting to become the third leading run-scorer in international cricket.

3. Most runs in Champions Trophy
Virat Kohli made his Champions Trophy debut for India in 2009 and played 13 matches, scoring 529 runs. If the former captain scores at least 263 runs this tournament, he will beat West Indies' Chris Gayle's record of 791 runs and become the all-time leading run-scorer.

4. Most 50s in Champions Trophy
Kohli has scored five half-centuries in 13 Champions Trophy matches. If he scores at least two 50s in this tournament, he will successfully break Rahul Dravid's record of 6 in 19 matches.
5. Cricketer with most ICC Trophies
If India wins the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the 36-year-old batter will become the joint-most successful player in ICC tournaments alongside Australia's Ricky Ponting.
