Five Jaipur-based Bands that are in the Pink of Great Music

What began as a studio project back in 2010 went on to become a four piece act in 2013. Consisting of Lovenish and Abhishek on guitar and vocals, Mayank of drums and vocals and bassist Nikhil, SaaR express themselves with Hindi Rock.

A five piece alternative metal act from Jaipur who have been performing since 2010, the band has recently made its contribution to Bollywood and Bengali Folk Rock. As far their name goes, it originates from the neighbourhood they grew up in. The act includes Jeet Mukherjee on vocals, Gunjan Soral and Priydarshi Yadav on guitar and vocals, Ishaan Kochar on bass guitar and drummer Rohan Nair.

Initially formed as Mantra in 2011, the band barely managed airplay with a few initial singles until they rechristened themselves as The Lost Symbols? in 2012. Consisting of Aman Raj as lead vocalist and producer, Arun Singh Naruka on Drums and Vidit Mathur on Bass, The Lost Symbols? have been redefining the Jaipur rock circuit with their eccentric compositions.

Defining death metal since 1990, Winter Gate loves doling out its influences from Yes, Rush, Camel and Katatonia without compromising on the classic appeal of Death metal. Formed in 2008, the band tasted success in 2013 when Transcending Obscurity India signed in the band to tour around the country, while performing at live shows. Since then there has been no looking back for drummer Sudeep Saxena, Devashish Dutt on guitars and vocals, Krishanu Bora on guitar and Mandeep Yadav on bass guitar.

Rajasthan Roots was formed in 2005 by Aditya Bhasin a.k.a Adi Das, when under the mentorship of John & Faith Singh. The collective also works as an interface between the traditional musicians and international artists wanting to collaborate and share cultures.

Jaipur, also known as the Pink City of India is home to some incredibly rooted sounds and voices that reflect the vibrancy of this lively and bustling city. Without further ado, let’s take you through these five Jaipur-based bands to know what keeps them ticking.
