The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is about to begin in a few hours. The prestigious event will be hosted in France from May 13 to May 24, 2025. Known for bringing together filmmakers, artists, and movie enthusiasts under one roof, India is once again ready to make a strong impression. Heres a look at five Indian films that will be showcased at Cannes 2025.

1. Aranyer Din Ratri
Legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's 1970 classic starring Soumitra Chatterjee and Sharmila Tagore will be screened at Cannes 2025 in the Classics category.The film will be restored in the newly restored 4K version, created using original camera and sound negatives, preserved carefully by producer Purnima Dutta.

2. Homebound
Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s second feature film, Homebound, has been selected to feature for the Un Certain section at the film festival. It features Vishal Jethwa, Janhvi Kapoor, and Ishaan Khatter in leading roles.

3. Tanvi: The Great
Anupam Kher's directorial debut is all set to feature at Marché du Film (Cannes Film Market) during Cannes 2025. The film features a stellar star cast which includes Shubhangi Dutt, Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, and Nassar.

4. Charak
Inspired by the traditional Charak Puja of Bengal, Sudipto Sen's film, helmed by Sheiladitya Moulik, explores the theme of blind faith, child sacrifice, and occult rituals associated with the Bengali festival.
5. A Doll Made of Clay
A Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) production, this 23-minute short film has been selected under the prestigious La Cinef category. It highlights the work of student filmmakers across the globe.A Doll Made Of Clay is the only Indian entry in this section. It is written and directed by Kokob Gebrehaweria Tesfay, an Ethiopian student at SRFTI.
