Nitanshi Goel`s Cannes debut in 2025
The Cannes Film Festival 2025 is all set to begin today, on May 13. The 78th edition of the film festival will be held at the infamous Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in France from May 13 to May 24, 2025.
Several Indian actors, including Alia Bhatt, will walk the red carpet for the first time. However, it is not just the Jigra actress who will make heads turn. This year`s Cannes will also mark Laapata Ladies star Nitanshi Goel`s glorious debut.
After attending Oscars 2025, when her debut film, Laapataa Ladies, was selected as India`s official entry, the 17-year-old is now gearing up for her debut at the world`s most prestigious film festival. She will be the youngest actor to walk at Cannes.

Goel opened up on her Cannes debut and expressed her excitement while speaking with IANS. She recalled her early days in the industry with soaring ambitions in her mind and dreams filled in her eyes.
She shared how Kiran Rao`s Laapataa Ladies at the Oscars and now her Cannes debut are inching her closer towards her goals.
Nitanshi Goel said, "I came into this industry with aspirations of making things happen for me. From the incredible journey of Laapataa Ladies to now standing on the global stage at Cannes, I am getting closer to realising them. I am that girl who is representing every Indian girl out there who dreams big and is ready to go and achieve them, come what may.”
She also expressed her excitement and gratitude for representing Indian girls on a global platform and called it an `absolute honour`.
"Being able to represent those girls on a global stage is a moment of sheer happiness. By being on the carpet, I wish to empower each female out there who is taking charge of their life, dreams, and career. It`s an absolute honour," she further added.
Nitanshi will be joining an elite list of Indian actors who will be headed to Cannes this year. This list also includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Simi Garewal, Neeraj Gahwyn, Sharmila Tagore, Jacqueliene Fernandez, Shalini Passi, Urvashi Rautela, and Vishal Jethwa.
Filmmaker Payal Kapadia, who recorded history by winning the Grand Prix award for her film All We Imagine As Light, is back as a jury member this year.
