Yami Gautam On Fake Filmy Awards, Oppenheimer, And Cillian Murphy`s Oscar Win
The 96th Oscar Awards 2024 have been quaking and stirring up the internet. The full list of winners includes some of the most prominent and deserving names. One of them is Oppenheimer star Cilian Murphy, who won his first ever Academy Award for his exceptional performance in the film.
Oppenheimer was a Christopher Nolan blockbuster that revolved around the American mastermind behind developing the world`s deadliest nuclear bomb, which was dropped on Japan`s Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The filmmaker also won an Oscar for Best Director.
As Cillian Murphy won his first Oscar, Bollywood actress Yami Gautam cheered for him while taking a dig at `fake filmy awards.` The Article 370 actress called him an extraordinary actor and praised the Hollywood star for his resilience.

Her tweet read, “Having no belief in any of the current fake ‘filmy’ awards since the last few years, I stopped attending them, but today I am feeling really happy for an extraordinary actor who stands for patience, resilience, and so many more emotions.”
She further added, "Watching him be honored on the biggest global platform tells us that in the end, it’s your talent that stands the tallest above anything. Congratulations #CillianMurphy! #Oscar2024."
While Oppenheimer won the Best Picture Award, the biopic also got the Best Supporting Actor Award for Robert Downey Jr., who played a key role in the film.

As he accepted his first Oscar, Murphy said, “For better or worse, we`re all living in Oppenheimer`s world. I`d like to dedicate this to the peacemakers.”
The political drama was helmed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, and it also featured Priya Mani and Arun Govil in key roles. The film has earned around 63 crore in India.
On the personal front, Yami and her husband, Aditya Dhar, are all set to embrace parenthood this year. The couple tied the knot in 2021 in an intimate ceremony in Himachal Pradesh.
With the Vicky Donor actress in her second trimester, the duo will welcome their first child in 2024.
