The much-awaited sequel to War, starring Hrithik Roshan, now has a release date. It is part of the YRF Spy Universe and takes the story from Tiger 3, Pathaan, and War. YRF has set War 2 release date for Independence Day 2025.

In the post-credits sequence of Tiger 3, Hrithik Roshan had a rather sneaky appearance where the promo for the film was revealed. Much to everyone's excitement, there was no presence of Jr. NTR, who is supposed to play the villain. The makers have kept his look a secret for now, and it remains to be seen when it comes out.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to break the news. He wrote, "#BreakingNews... YRF ANNOUNCES 'WAR 2' RELEASE DATE: INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND 2025... The sixth film from #YRFSpyUniverse, #War2, now has a release date... Get ready for mayhem at the box office on 14, 2025 [Thursday]. #AyanMukerji directs the film that's produced by #YRF."

War 2 is set to release on Thursday, a new trend in the industry that helps the film tap into the weekend and significantly increase the film's box-office collection.

According to some reports, even Kiara Advani is going to join the franchise with War 2, along with Jr. NTR. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, who also appeared in the post-credit sequence as he provided a glimpse into the antagonist of War 2.

His character, colonel Sunil Luhtra, was heard saying, "Yeh dushman itna vehshi aur khatarnak hai ki hum soch bhi nahi sakte. Na toh uska koi naam hai, aur na hi chehra. Woh andhere mein rehta hai Kabir, aur usse rokne ke liye tumhe bhi issi andhere mein utarna padega. Sahi aur galat ke har line ko cross karna padega, aur apne andar ke achai aur burai ka farak mitana padega."

Without doubt, the post-credits voiceover has given everyone a lot to think about regarding the story. With Ayan Mukherji as the director, expectations are surely on the higher side for how the film turns out to be.

War was directed by Siddharth Anand and introduced Hrithik Roshan as Agent Kabir. It also had Tiger Shroff playing an important role. The film turned out to be a huge success at the time of its release, with praise for its action sequences and performances.
