Filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan is currently promoting his upcoming directorial Varshangalkku Shesham in Chennai. This film is one of the most anticipated Malayalam-language films and will be released on April 11. During an interview, Vineeth Sreenivasan shared that he had to reject an offer from another big film with a superstar cast as he was busy directing this film. Here's what he said.

During an interview with Cine Ulagam, a Tamil-language YouTube channel, Vineeth revealed that he had to decline a great opportunity in the past due to being occupied with other projects. He shared, 'If you go to another industry and work with them, you can learn a lot. It would be a good experience if a director wanted me to work with him. It seems that it would be better to work in another language. Last year, there was an opportunity in Tamil. However, I couldn't be part of it. It was not intentional.'

The director reasoned that he was working on his upcoming film Varshangalkku Shesham at the time, and juggling directorial duties and acting in Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT together was not an option. He recalled, 'Venkat Prabhu Sir approached me for a film it was for his film with Thalapathy. It was supposed to go on floors in October. And that's exactly when I was making Varshangalkku Shesham. I told him I couldn't.'

Vineeth Sreenivasan added that a director's responsibilities are more demanding than those of an actor. The filmmaker mentioned that contributing to Venkat Prabhu's film would have been easier if he were only acting in it. 'I told him if I was just acting in a film, I could tell the director and somehow do it. But as I was the director, the dates of all the actors would go to waste. He understood and said we would collaborate in the future,' the filmmaker concluded.

The filmmaker also credited Venkat Prabhu as his major inspiration for becoming a director. Vineeth mentioned Venkat Prabhu's film Saroja and expressed his admiration for the way the director worked with newcomers. He said, 'I watched it in Chennai only. I was living in Anna Nagar back then. While going back, I was telling my friends, 'Why don't Malayalam filmmakers do such things with newcomers? Look at how people are celebrating it. That's when my friend said, 'Why don't you do it?' That was the reason for my directorial debut. So, I always like him for creating the first spark in me.'
