On Monday, Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, known for his role in `Leo`, arrived at Kerala airport to the cheers of hundreds of fans. This marks the actor’s return to Kerala after a long hiatus of 14 years. Thalapathy Vijay last visited Kerala for the film `Kaavalan`, which was released in 2011. Fans were seen eagerly awaiting his arrival, and the local police ensured that the safety of the public was maintained in the scrum.
Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, also known as Thalapathy Vijay, is currently filming his upcoming movie `Greatest of All Time (GOAT)` in Kerala. This shoot is reportedly the climax of the film and will conclude in a few weeks. The movie is set to release later this year, and an announcement regarding the same is imminent. Upon Thalapathy Vijay`s arrival, the hashtags #VijayStormHitsKerala and #TheGreatestOfAllTime trended on the internet throughout the day.
The fans are eagerly anticipating this Venkat Prabhu directorial, as it could mark the Tamil sensation`s final movie before he transitions into a political career. In February 2024, the actor announced his retirement from the film industry and entry into politics after establishing the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party.

The star cast of GOAT includes Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prasanth, Prabhu Deva, and Vijay. Trisha is also set to appear in a cameo role. The film will be directed by Venkat Prabhu and will feature an upbeat dance song with Prabhu Deva and Thalapathy Vijay together. The actor from `Varisu` will portray both his younger and older selves in the film.
`GOAT` is produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh, and Kalpathi S. Suresh of AGS Entertainment. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the background score and music, while Siddhartha Nuni and Venkat Raajen handled the cinematography and editing, respectively. Although the original film is in Tamil, it will have a multi-language release for fans.
