Vikrant Massey To Star In Dostana 2 With Lakshya, "Doing My First Dharma Movie"

Vikrant Massey confirms replacing Kartik Aaryan in Dostana 2
Vikrant Massey has been the talk of the town after he won the National Award for Best Actor for his exceptional performance in 12th Fail. The film`s massive success has proven to be a game changer for the actor, opening many doors for him, one of them being Karan Johar`s Dostana 2.
The 2008 comedy drama starring John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra, and Abhishek Bachchan will see a sequel with fresh faces. Vikrant will share the screen with The Bads Of Bollywood star Lakshya.
In a recent interview, the 12th Fail actor confirmed the news and shared some interesting updates about the shoot, cast, look and feel of the film, and more.
Vikrant Massey confirms Dostana 2
The National Award winner spoke to Times Now and said, “You will see me doing that soon. I think this news is already out. I don’t know why I’m not talking. I’m doing Dostana 2. I’m doing my first Dharma movie.”
The Sabarmati Report actor further revealed that he will be seen in a completely new avatar. “Use me; you will see me wearing good designer clothes. Karan (Johar) sir will make sure that I wear good clothes and those fancy sunglasses. Shooting somewhere in Europe.”

When asked who will be playing the Desi Girl in the film, Massey said, “I think wo main nahi bolunga. Wo Karan sir hi bolenge toh behtar hai. “Uski bhi toh badi announcement hai.” (I won`t reveal that; Karan sir will say it, as it is a big announcement). Lakshya is a part of the movie, but the girl will be a surprise."

In May, Pinkvilla reported that Kartik Aaryan is no longer starring in Karan Johar`s film, and the makers will introduce a new face as the debutant female lead.
A source close to the development shared, “Dostana 2 has been in development at Dharma for a while, and the makers have cracked a perfect script that can carry the franchise forward in a progressive manner. Dostana 2 will feature Vikrant Massey with Lakshya and will mark the launchpad of a debutante as the female lead. The makers are aiming to take the film on floors in January 2026 and release it at the end of next year."
For the uninitiated, the second instalment of Dostana initially starred Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. However, due to Kartik and Karan Johar`s fallout, he walked out of the project.
