TV Child Actor Veer Sharma and Brother Killed in Fire
A heart-wrenching tragedy has sent shockwaves through the television industry: on a fateful early Sunday morning in Kota, Rajasthan, 8-year-old TV actor Veer Sharma and his teenage brother Shoriya Sharma (16) lost their lives in an apartment fire.
Authorities believe the siblings died of smoke inhalation after a blaze broke out in their flat while they were alone in the home.
A Tragic Morning in Kota
The fire erupted around 2 a.m. in their fourth-floor flat in the Deepshree Building in the Transport Nagar area.
Police officials say it began in the drawing room, likely due to a short circuit, and though flames were contained to that area, smoke filled the home and apparently suffocated the children.
Neighbours noticed heavy smoke and forced entry, finding the boys unconscious. They ed Veer and Shoriya’s father, Jitendra Sharma, who was away at a bhajan event, and rushed the siblings to hospital. Sadly, both were declared dead.
Veer and Shoriya’s mother, Rita Sharma, was in Mumbai at the time and came later to receive the bodies.
After the fire was extinguished, the charred remains of the drawing room and its furniture were visible — though the fire did not spread to all rooms. The bodies were handed over to the grieving family, and in a gesture of compassion, the children`s eyes were donated to an eye bank, honouring their memory.
An FIR has been lodged under Section 194 of the BNSS Act, and investigations are underway to pinpoint the exact cause of the tragedy.
Who Was Veer Sharma on Television?
Though so young, Veer had already made his mark in the world of TV. He was best known for playing Pushkal in Sony SAB’s mythological show Shrimad Ramayan. His presence showcased talent beyond his years, and he had the promise of a bright future in acting.
His role as Pushkal stood out for bringing depth and youthful energy into a show steeped in epic tales. Though not a long résumé, his performance drew attention and warmth from audiences and colleagues alike.
A Legacy That Endures
This horrific loss—coming on the threshold of Dussehra 2025, a time when families prepare to celebrate the triumph of good over evil—has added a tragic shadow to the festive mood.
As fans and peers mourn, many will remember Veer not only as a child actor but as a young soul who had already begun weaving his dream in television.
May his and Shoriya’s memories live on, and may their family find the strength to heal in the days ahead.
