Top 6 Kannada Language Films Releasing This Weekend of March 15, 2024

This week, the Kannada film industry will release five new movies and re-release 'Jackie', a classic film starring the late Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar, also known as Appu. Here is the list of Kannada films that will be in theatres on March 15, 2024.

Jackie

'Jackie' is a 2010 movie starring actor and philanthropist Puneeth Rajkumar. The actor would've celebrated his 49th birthday on March 17, 2024. To commemorate his work, Jackie will be available for the audience to watch over the weekend of March 15th.

Somu Sound Engineer

The action drama film, which releases this Friday, features Shreshta Basavaraj, Nivishka Patil, Jahangir, and Girish Jatti in the lead roles. The main character, Somu, is a hot-headed rural boy whose life takes an unexpected turn after a series of unfortunate events.

Charan Raj composed the music for the film, which also marks Abhi's directorial debut.

Kerebete

Kerebete, produced by renowned Kannada distributor Jaishankar Patel, is a movie about a traditional fishing community in the Malnad region. This community has never before been featured at the core of a film's plot.

Gowri Shankar and Bindu Shivaraam play the lead roles, with Gopalkrishna Deshpande and Sampath Kumar in supporting roles. Kerebete marks Rajguru's directorial debut.

Chow Chow Bath

Chow Chow Bath is a hyperlink romantic comedy film directed by Kenja Chethan Kumar. The film stars Aruna Balraj, Sagar Gowda, Sushmitha Bhat, Dhanush S. Baikampady, Sankalp Sharma, Prakarsha Shastry, and Geetha Bangera in lead roles.

The film portrays three distinct love stories that unfold differently and eventually converge.

Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek is an organised-crime investigation thriller starring Anoop Revanna in the lead role. The plot revolves around the lead character's involvement in crimes such as kidnapping and trafficking.

The story takes an unexpected turn when he abducts the daughter of a wealthy businessperson. The film stars Dhanya Ramkumar, Arvind Rau, Rajesh Nataranga, and Bala Rajwadi in pivotal roles.

Directed by Utsab Gonwal, Photo is a movie set during the trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic, featuring the migration of the underprivileged class at that time.

The film is presented by the renowned actor Prakash Raj. 'Photo' received a standing ovation at the Habitat International Film Festival in New Delhi.
