While recent rumours hinted at the film being shelved, new reports suggest this epic crossover is not cancelled but has been temporarily put on hold. It seems Yash Raj Films (YRF) is taking a strategic pause to creatively reboot its entire spy universe.
The driving force behind this delay is producer Aditya Chopra`s vision to revamp the YRF Spy Universe. According to a source, “Aditya believes the Spy Universe films are veering toward repetition and need a revitalised approach to storytelling and presentation.” The goal is to prevent the franchise from becoming predictable. “The aim is to avoid formula fatigue by infusing fresh direction and innovative storytelling styles,” the source added. This creative overhaul is intended to reimagine major projects like Tiger vs Pathaan rather than scrapping them.

Meanwhile, the lead actors are busy with other commitments. Shah Rukh Khan is currently filming King, an action film where he will share the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan. This strategic pause on Tiger vs Pathaan suggests that when the two spies do finally face off, it will be in a revitalised universe, promising an even more spectacular cinematic experience.
