'12th Fail' star Vikrant Massey is preparing for his upcoming film 'The Sabarmati Report', which is scheduled for release on May 3, 2024. Today, the film's makers released a teaser that provides a glimpse into the tragic events that took place two decades ago near Godhra railway station in Gujarat. The film promises to uncover previously unknown facts that have been concealed for the past 22 years, with the aim of bringing justice to the victims' families.

The newly released teaser features the lead actors of the film, Vikrant Massey, Riddhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna. The teaser opens up with the horrific scenes of vandalism on the Sabarmati Express that was returning from Ayodhya. The train is pelted with rocks before being set on fire. The teaser features sequences displaying the infamous burning of the train and the passengers trapped inside the train screaming to be rescued.
Soon after, we get a glimpse of media people struggling to report the chilling incident amid political pressure and media cover-ups. We see Vikrant Massey's character, Shraban Kumar, is seen on the field trying to uncover the truth while attempting to escape from someone to possibly save his life.
The Sabarmati Report is inspired by the vandalism and burning of the Sabarmati Express that occurred on the morning of February 27, 2002, near Godhra railway station in Gujarat. This incident reportedly took the lives of 59 passengers on the train.
Vikrant Massey, the lead character of the film, shared the teaser on his social media handle with the caption, 'An event that shook the nation. Turned into an incident that changed Indian history forever. Presenting the #TheSabarmatiReport in cinemas on 3rd May, 2024.' The movie also stars Raashii Khanna from Yodha and Riddhi Dogra from Jawan.
The Sabarmati Report is directed by Ranjan Chandel and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor, Amul V. Mohan, and Anshul Mohan. The Sabarmati Report is a Vikir Films Production presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd.
