Flora Saini, Actor Who Played Ghost In Stree, Joins Bigg Boss Telugu 9
While Bigg Boss 19 has already taken the internet by storm, Bigg Boss Telugu kicks off its new season with fresh faces. One of the contestants of Bigg Boss Telugu 9 is Flora Saini, the actor who played a ghost in the film Stree.
She became a household name in 2018 when she raised her voice during the peak of the #MeToo movement, accusing her then live-in partner of domestic violence.
The news of Flora joining Bigg Boss Telugu 9 came in on September 7. She shared the news on Instagram and wrote, "This journey is going to be power-packed and full of surprises, and I`m ready to give it my all."
When Flora Saini shared her domestic violence journey
The actress first spoke about her horrifying domestic violence journey during the 2018 #MeToo movement. In an interview with News18 in 2022, she recalled the horror and compared her experience to that with the murder of Shraddha Walkar by her boyfriend in Delhi.
Flora moved in with her boyfriend, producer Gaurang Doshi, after cutting off ties with her family, as they didn`t approve of their relationship.

"Your parents see the red flags. In Shraddha`s case as well, the same happened. They first cut you off from your family. I also left my home, and within a week of moving in with him, I was being bashed up. I couldn`t understand why he was beating me suddenly because, in my eyes, he was a really nice guy," Saini explained.

"One night, he`d beaten me so badly that I had a fractured jaw. He took his father`s picture and warned me, saying, `I swear on my father that I will kill you tonight.` When he turned back to put the photo frame away, in that fraction of a second, my mom`s voice echoed in my ears that at such a moment you will have to run — bas bhaag, mat soch ki kapde pehne hai ya nahi, paise hain ya nahi, bas bhaag (run and don`t think if you have clothes on or not, if you have money or not, just run for your life). I ran to my home and decided I would never go back," she further recalled.
Flora Saini, along with her family, went to the police station to file a complaint against her ex-boyfriend the next day. However, to her surprise, the police refused to co-operate and instead called Gaurang to tell him that she`d come to file a complaint. She was ultimately able to file a handwritten complaint against him.
On the work front
Flora Saini has been a popular face in South Indian cinema. She has also appeared in some notable Hindi films, including Love In Nepal, Dabangg 2, Lakshmi, and Dhanak.
She shot to fame after playing the role of a ghost in Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor`s film, Stree.
