Shreya Ghoshal reacts to Arijit Singh`s retirement
The internet is shaking and quaking as netizens deal with the heartbreak of Arijit Singh announcing his retirement from playback singing. The singer, who was in every music lover`s playlist, announced stepping away as a vocalist on Tuesday evening.
Taking it to his private account on X (formerly Twitter), Arijit shared the news, leaving fans and industry folks in shock. While many hoped this would be a prank, singer Shreya Ghoshal is rather excited and refused to call it "end of an era."
Though he has stepped back from playback singing, Arijit later clarified he will continue composing music for films.

While fans are disappointed with the Raabta singer`s decision to retire, Shreya is rather excited for Arijit`s next phase. The two incredibly talented singers have collaborated on many songs.

Shreya took to the comments section of his retirement announcement post and wrote, “It’s the start of a new phase of @arijitsingh, and I am truly excited to hear, listen and experience what this genius churns out.”
“I can never call this the end of an era. An artist of his calibre can never be defined by traditional means or boxed into a set formula. Time to soar higher, my dear Arijit,” she added, praising Arijit`s artistic range.
Armaan and Amaal Malik react to Arijit Singh`s news
Singer and composer Armaan Malik also reacted to the shocking news and said the soul ultimately guides an artist through life`s journey. He emphasized that one chapter of Arijit`s professional life may have come to an end, but another exciting one awaits.
Sharing a throwback picture with Singh, the Bigg Boss contestant wrote, “The soul knows when it’s time to change direction. What’s being offered no longer feeds its highest calling. I don’t know where the river meets the sea again, but I trust the current and the grace guiding it. Here’s to the magic ahead. Thank you for everything you’ve given to the craft of playback singing, @arijitsingh.”
Earlier, Armaan`s elder brother and music composer, Amaal Malik also reacted to Arijit Singh`s professional update.
He took to social media and wrote, “So lost after hearing this. I don’t get it, but I respect your decision. Just know that I was, I am, and will always remain an arijitsingh fan. Film music will never be the same without you, my bro. Grateful to be born in your era.”

He wrote, “Hello, Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you for giving me so much love over the years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not going to be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”
Sharing the reason behind this decision, Arijit Singh added, "There is not one reason behind this; there are several reasons, plus I have been trying to do this for a long time. Finally I have gathered the right courage. One of the reasons was simple: I get bored pretty quickly. That`s why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing: I got bored."
He also thanked his admirers for their unconditional love and support throughout his decade-long career.
