On Friday night, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Mumbai by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, but was unfortunately declared dead on arrival. Initial findings pointed towards a combination of "low blood pressure, cardiac arrest and heavy gastric condition" as the cause of death. A postmortem was conducted at Cooper Hospital, with the results expected to bring more clarity. Dr. Rahul Chawla, a consultant neurologist, said that IV Glutathione and detoxifying drips "are not guideline recommended" and can have harmful side effects, including heart rhythm abnormalities and low blood pressure.
