Selena Gomez Weeps Over Donald Trump`s Mass Deportation Policy
One of Hollywood`s most loved singers, Selena Gomez, broke down in tears as she was bawling over US president Donald Trump’s policy of deportation of illegal immigrants from America. The American singer-actor shared a video expressing her emotions on Instagram Stories, which she later deleted.
In the video, Selena wore a black outfit and appeared to be at her home as she recorded the message.
Crying her heart out, she said, “I just wanted to say that I`m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children. I don`t understand. I`m so sorry; I wish I could do something, but I can`t. I don`t know what to do. I`ll try everything, I promise.”
Along with her video, she added a text that read, “I’m sorry,” along with a Mexican flag. While the singer quickly deleted the video, a fan page had already shared it on X (formerly known as Twitter). Have a look.

Although many fans supported her emotional outburst, others seemed to criticise the Good for You singer.
A user wrote, “It`s not Trump`s immigration law against Mexicans and Latinos. It is U.S. law against people that enter the country illegally.” Another commented, “Selectively picking which immigration tragedy upsets you is performative.”
A third comment on X read, “Her people. She is an American...her ‘people` are American citizens. If she wants to be a Mexican... then go live amongst ‘your people.`”
Another user tweeted, "There is a legal way to come into the United States. Why don’t they try that?"
After facing a severe backlash from a segment of people for her emotional video, Selena Gomez posted a note on her Instagram Stories addressing the criticism.

She wrote, “Apparently it`s not ok to show empathy for people." However, much like her earlier video, this was also deleted.
What’s interesting is that Selena Gomez has been vocal about immigration issues in the past. In 2019, she produced a Netflix ary titled Living Un ed.
The series sheds light on the struggles of eight un ed families living in the US during the Trump administration.
