Actor Salman Khan, who often expresses his feelings through emotional Instagram posts, mourned his close friend Sushil Kumar`s passing on Sunday. The two were long-time friends and had known each other for 42 years.
Kumar was like a brother to Khan. Bidding him farewell felt deeply personal. The Tiger 3 actor took to Instagram and penned a rather emotional post, reflecting on the good times the duo spent together.
Sharing a picture with him, Salman wrote, “This guy has been a brother for 42 years – the nicest, kindest, and most helpful. Even if he was down and out, he was always smiling and dancing, with no pain or stress in the worst situations.”
He recalled how Sushil would encourage and motivate others during tough times and added, “He used to say, ‘ki farak nai painda, sab theek hoga’ (it doesn’t matter, everything will be fine)."

Ending the note with a blend of grief and good memories, the actor wrote, “No tears for you, brother, only memories and laughter. My pa died with a smile on his face. Way to go, brother. Koi pehle, koi baad mein all going to go, don’t know when or how, toh kuch kar ke jao (some may go earlier, some later, we don’t know when or how, so do something before you leave).”
In a separate post, Salman Khan reflected on loss and acceptance, writing that no one can stop those who are meant to leave. He also emphasised that good souls are often taken away earlier, while others stay on to settle their dues and karmas of life.
On the work front
Salman Khan`s upcoming project, Maatrubhumi, has kept fans waiting with bated breath. Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, the project was initially based on the Battle of Galwan Valley clash.
However, recent changes suggest some changes in the script and title, with reference to China and the conflict that followed.
The film was earlier slated for an April 21 release. However, it has been indefinitely postponed, with a new release date yet to be revealed.
Salman was recently seen in a cameo in Riteish Deshmukh`s Raja Shivaji, which saw a theatrical release on May 1. The film also starred Sanjay Dutt, Genelia Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amole Gupte in key roles.
