Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is being questioned in connection with the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, revealed in the interrogation that he wanted to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan in 2018 to teach him a lesson over the blackbuck poaching case. During the interrogation, the gangster revealed the murder plot.

In 2018, he sent gangster Sampat Nehra to Mumbai to execute the murder. He also revealed that Sampat only had a pistol with which he was not able to fire from a long distance. Hastimal Saraswat, a lawyer representing Salman Khan in the blackbuck poaching case, earlier on July 6, claimed he had received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
