A source close to the development told the entertainment portal, “Hans Zimmer is gearing up to make his debut in the Indian film industry with Ramayana. Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari have always been vocal about their global vision for this Indian epic, and they are leaving no stone unturned to make that a reality."

"Hans Zimmer is also fascinated by the vision for the story of Lord Ram and is all ready to compose the score of the Ramayana," the source further added.

Talking about Rahman compiling music for Ramayana, the source also mentioned, “It’s a match made in heaven. Two global talents are set to team up to present India’s story to the world."

Ramayana cast

The upcoming mythology drama is a trilogy that speaks about popular Hindu folklore and one of the greatest battles fought between the Lords and demons to prove truth triumphs over evil.

Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film comes with a stellar cast of many young and veteran actors.

With Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Mata Sita. Television actor Ravi Dubey will play the role of Laxman, while Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman.

The movie will see KGF star Yash as the menacing Ravana. Vijay Sethupathi has been approached for the role of Vibhishan. Actress Lara Dutta will play the role of Kaikeyi, while Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Ravana`s wife, Mandhodhari.

Nitesh Tiwari`s Ramayana is aiming for a Diwali 2025 release in cinemas near you. However, there is no official confirmation on the same yet.
