Ram Charan announces RC17 to be directed by Sukumar

Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind successful films like Pushpa: The Rise, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, Rangasthalam, and many others. The production company shared the exciting news of the upcoming collaboration between Ram Charan and Sukumar, stating, “Mighty forces reunite for an earth-shattering magnum opus.` #RC17 is set to bring new colours to Indian cinema.”

The film is scheduled to start filming later this year and is expected to be released in the last quarter of 2025. Currently, only the lead actor has been confirmed, with an announcement of the supporting cast to follow soon. Ram Charan, who celebrates his birthday today on March 27, is well-known for his roles in Telugu films such as Magadheera, Yevadu, Dhruva, Rangasthaalam, and RRR.

Ram Charan on the work front

Ram Charan`s project RC16 recently commenced after the film`s cast attended the launching ceremony. A. R. Rahman, Boney Kapoor, and Ram Charan`s wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, were among the attendees. The upcoming project will star Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Sukumar is renowned for being one of the highest-paid directors in South Indian cinema. He has directed popular films such as Rangasthalam, Arya, and Nannaku Prematho, among others. His 2021 blockbuster film, `Pushpa: The Rise`, starred Allu Arjun. Currently, the director is busy wrapping up `Pushpa: The Rule`, the second installment of the Pushpa franchise. The film is reportedly set to release later this year.

Talking about Pushpa, the lead actor of the movie, Allu Arjun, said, “You can definitely expect part three, we do want to make it a franchise, and we have exciting ideas for the lineup.”
