The Punjabi entertainment world is reeling after the heartbreaking news that beloved singer-actor Rajvir Jawanda has passed away, 11 days after he was critically injured in a road accident.
The 35-year-old artist breathed his last at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, at 10:55 a.m. on October 8, 2025, succumbing to multiple organ failure despite exhaustive medical efforts.
From accident to hospitalisation
On September 27, tragedy struck when Rajvir’s motorcycle collided with stray cattle near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The collision left him with serious head and spinal trauma, compounded by severe neurological damage.
He was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition and placed on life support immediately.

According to hospital authorities, his brain activity remained minimal throughout, and despite round-the-clock neurosurgical and critical care treatment, his condition never improved.
For nearly 12 days, fans, loved ones, and the wider Punjabi community held their breath, hoping for some sign of recovery. Unfortunately, the prolonged battle was lost early Wednesday morning.
The end of a bright musical journey
Although his life was cut tragically short, Rajvir Jawanda left behind a body of work that resonated with many. He rose to fame with tracks like Surname, Kamla, Mera Dil, Sardari, and Tu Dis Penda.
Before music, he reportedly harboured dreams of joining the police force, but his passion drew him to singing instead.
On the cinematic front, he also made his presence felt in Punjabi films such as Jind Jaan, Mindo Taseeldarni, and Kaka Ji. He even appeared in Subedar Joginder Singh alongside Gippy Grewal.
Born in Pona village, Jagraon, Ludhiana, Rajvir’s rise in the Punjabi music scene was swift yet poignant—leaving behind fans who cherished his lyrical voice and connection to Punjabi pride and culture.
A grieving industry and a nation in shock
The outpouring of grief was immediate and heartfelt. Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the hospital to check on his condition days before the final outcome.
His sudden loss has left an irreplaceable void in the Punjabi music and film communities.
As tributes pour in, one common sentiment echoes: Rajvir Jawanda’s flame, though extinguished far too soon, will continue shining in every note, every lyric, and in the hearts of those inspired by him.
