Sona in New York is known to serve a wide array of Indian flavors. With Priyanka Chopra no longer being associated with the restaurant, it will be handled and run by its co-founder, Maneesh K. Goyal. This comes amidst the Citadel actress's plan for global expansion.

Why has Priyanka Chopra quit Sona?

Sona was one of Priyanka's dream projects, an attempt to introduce authentic Indian flavors with a contemporary touch in New York. This made her feel closer to home. Many Bollywood celebrities, like Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, and more, have visited the restaurant.

Maneesh Goyal revealed that PeeCee was the creative force behind Sona. He said. "We're grateful for her partnership and support. While she will no longer be involved as a creative partner moving forward, she remains in the Sona family, and we are excited for our respective new chapters ahead."

The representative further added, 'Bringing Sona to life will invariably be a proud and significant moment in her career. Stepping away from Sona allows her to broaden these ambitions on a more global scale, and she's excited about the possibilities that await.'

For the uninitiated, the Fashion actress has a luxury homeware brand called Sona Homeware. She is also the founder of the hair care brand Anomaly and a film production company called Purple Pebble Pictures.

With the unfortunate news coming in, Priyanka Chopra fans have started to ask why she has stepped away from her dream restaurant. A user wrote, 'Aww man, I am so bummed!! I wanted to celebrate my 40th birthday there. I hope she's okay. This was a dream of hers.'
