In a recent candid moment, Neena Gupta, who masterfully portrays the fiery Manju Devi, added fuel to the fire with a surprising and humorous comment about the script for the fifth season.

During a light-hearted chat with the show`s cast, the conversation turned to the major cliffhangers of the latest season. When an interviewer speculated on the election outcome, suggesting, "We think Manju Devi will win. But after that, something unexpected might happen," Gupta burst into laughter. She playfully retorted, “The script has leaked. Get ready for the next season—the script has already leaked!”
This witty remark has left fans wondering if it was a simple joke or a subtle hint at another signature Panchayat twist. The burning questions remain: Who will win the Phulera elections? What is the future of Sachiv Ji and Rinky`s budding romance? And will Abhishek Tripathi finally pass his government exam? Writer Chandan Kumar added another layer of suspense, saying, "There are three questions, and one more is—who shot Pradhan Ji? ... You will get a lot of answers. And those answers will come with some twists."
Panchayat Season 4 premiered on June 24 to immense global acclaim, quickly becoming the most-watched season in the franchise`s history. The show trended in the top 10 in over 42 countries, including the USA, UK, and Canada, and was streamed in more than 180 countries during its launch week.
Riding this wave of success, Amazon Prime Video officially announced that a fifth season is in development and slated for a 2026 release. Manish Menghani, Director & Head – Content Licensing at Prime Video India, celebrated the show`s "universal appeal and deep cultural resonance," confirming that work on the next chapter of Phulera`s story has already begun.

Interestingly, the show`s writer, Chandan Kumar, revealed that the script for Season 4 was in progress even before Season 3 had been released. "By the time Season 3 came out, a significant portion of the script was already complete," he shared, highlighting the team`s dedication to keeping the story moving forward.
As audiences eagerly await 2026, the combination of official confirmations and the cast`s playful teases ensures that the anticipation for Panchayat Season 5 will only continue to grow.
