When it comes to money, everyone dances to a different tune. Some are masters of earning, others excel at saving, and then there are those who believe in living in the moment, spending without a second thought. This financial dynamic becomes particularly fascinating when contrasting personalities coinhabit, as is the case with acclaimed television star Shweta Tiwari and her daughter, Palak Tiwari. Shweta, once among the highest-paid actresses on television, confessed her knack for saving. In a delightful contrast, her daughter Palak recently described her mother as "frugal", while admitting to being a bit of a spendthrift herself.
Shweta Tiwari became a household name with the sensational success of Ekta Kapoor`s Kasautii Zindagii Kay and was reportedly one of the top-earning TV actors of her time. Yet, her focus has remained on saving rather than splurging.
Palak, on the other hand, embraces a different philosophy. She believes in pampering herself and, more importantly, her hard-working mother. Seeing Shweta consistently put others before herself, Palak has taken it upon herself to introduce a little luxury into her mother`s life. She recounted being the one to gift Shweta her first branded handbag, a deliberate move to replace the old ‘jhola’ her mother used to carry.
“She’s a girl at the end of the day. She’s still a girl at heart, and every girl loves her bags," Palak explained. "If you know that you can afford it and you deserve it, you should go for it. How much will she run behind me, nani and Reyansh? She doesn’t give herself any luxury in life, which is why I ask her to prioritise herself once in a while."

The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress further added, “With the kind of name that she has earned for herself, she should carry a bag that represents that. Why shouldn’t she? But she doesn’t listen to me. Eventually, I get fed up and buy her stuff. The first designer bag that she owned was bought by me for her because I got tired of that one jholi she kept carrying. I couldn’t see her carrying that jholi anymore." Palak humorously admitted that while Shweta doesn`t always approve of her spending on high-end brands, bringing these small joys and luxuries to her mother gives Palak immense satisfaction.
Currently, Palak Tiwari is busy with promotions for her latest project, Romeo S3, which also stars Anoop Singh and is directed by Guddu Dhanoa, set for release on May 16, 2025. She was previously seen in The Bhootnii, which was released on May 1, 2025.
A Mother`s Hard-Earned Simplicity
Palak Tiwari, known for her hit "Bijlee Bijlee", recently shed light on her mother`s approach to finances in an interview. “My mom has worked too hard and too much in life. And that’s why she’s so simple and frugal all the time. It’s not about being materialistic so much so as it’s about rewarding yourself," Palak shared. This perspective paints a picture of Shweta as someone who, despite her immense success, prioritises simplicity and careful spending.Shweta Tiwari became a household name with the sensational success of Ekta Kapoor`s Kasautii Zindagii Kay and was reportedly one of the top-earning TV actors of her time.
