Katrina Kaif is gearing up for the release of her film Merry Christmas, which is directed by ace filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi and is a black comedy thriller that has given a lot of promise with its ambiguous trailer. The Badlapur director is known for making twisted films that make everyone think twice until the last minute.

Katrina Kaif opens up about working with Sriram Raghavan

In an interview, Katrina Kaif shared her experience of working with Sriram Raghavan. She was asked about what motivates her to do certain kinds of films. She replied, "There are good directors, and there are good stories. My intention is to be part of good stories. And I have always believed that the director is the captain of the ship. That's where it starts. This was a combination of some really important factors to me."

Further, speaking of Sriram Raghavan, she said, "Working with Sriram Raghavan was always on my bucket list of things to do." She shared how Raghavan is among her most favorite directors working in the industry, and so when she heard the script of the film, she already knew she had to be a part of the world. She also said that making the film simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil was quite challenging for her.

Sharing about this experience, she said, "That for us was a big challenge. The kind of scenes, the nature of the scenes, and performing those scenes in Tamil is a challenge because, obviously, that's a completely different language for me. But both films have come out beautifully. I am very proud to be a part of both films. I can't wait to share it with the audience."

Merry Christmas release date is January 12, 2024. It is written jointly by Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti, and Anukriti Pandey. The music of the film is composed by Pritam, with Hindi lyrics by Varun Grover. Sriram Raghavan is returning after 5 years since his last release, Andhadhun, in 2019.

He is known for making thrillers like Ek Hasina Thi and Johnny Gaddar.
