Meera Vasudevan announces third divorce
Malayalam actor Meera Vasudevan has publicly announced that her third marriage has officially ended. With a candid Instagram post, she revealed that she has been single since August 2025 and emphasised that she’s entering what she describes as the “most wonderful and peaceful phase” of her life.
At 43, Meera—celebrated for powerful performances in films like Thanmathra, Oruvan, Vairam: Fight for Justice, and Am Ah—was married to cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam.
The duo tied the knot in May 2024 in a low-key ceremony in Coimbatore, after meeting during the filming of the Malayalam serial Kudumbavilakku, where Vipin worked behind the camera.

In her heartfelt Instagram message, Meera wrote, “I, Actress Meera Vasudevan, aka @officialmeeravasudevan, officially declare that I have been single since August 2025. I am in the most wonderful and peaceful phase of my life…”

She accompanied the post with hashtags like #focused, #blessed, #gratitude, #meeravasudevan, #actressmeeravasudevan, and #actormeeravasudevan, signalling a grounded and optimistic outlook.
The announcement wasn’t just in words—Meera also removed all trace of her wedding photos and moments with Vipin from her social media channels, including Instagram.
While she hasn’t shared details on whether the divorce has been formalized legally, her public declaration puts a definitive end to their year-long marriage.
This marks Meera’s third divorce. Her first marriage was to Vishal Agarwal, son of cinematographer Ashok Kumar, in 2005—ending in 2010. She then tied the knot with actor John Kokken in 2012, and they share a son, Ariha; that relationship concluded in 2016.
Despite the personal upheaval, Meera has continued to shine professionally. Earlier this year, she celebrated 25 years in the entertainment industry, reflecting on her journey with gratitude and humility.
Currently, she is seen on television in the Malayalam serial Madhuranombarakattu, where she plays the role of Sujatha.
In sharing this news—with calmness rather than conflict—Meera connects deeply with fans and well-wishers. Rather than framing her divorce as a tragedy, she presents it as a chapter of growth, self-reflection, and inner peace.
