Makers of Coolie Announce Nagarjuna’s Entry to The Film on His Birthday

On Thursday, August 29, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna turned a year older. To make his birthday even more special, the team of the highly anticipated Tamil film `Coolie` officially welcomed him onboard. The film, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of 2025.
The poster featured Nagarjuna looking stylish in a black shirt and flaunting a luxury gold wristwatch. Upon seeing the poster, Nagarjuna responded to the director`s post and wrote, "Thank uuuu Loki, I hv been wanting to work with you since kaithi !!! Absolutely excited for our journey ahead @Dir_Lokesh Looking forward to be sharing screenspace with the Thalaivar!!"
Earlier, there were speculations that Nagarjuna had refused to be a part of the film. Media reports suggested that the makers had approached Kannada actor Upendra after Nagarjuna rejected the film. However, these rumours have now been proven to be false.

Apart from Nagarjuna, `Coolie` also features other prominent actors like Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Mahendran. There are also strong rumours that actor Aamir Khan might be making a cameo appearance in the film. If Aamir joins the cast of `Coolie`, it would mark his reunion with Rajinikanth after 30 years, their last joint outing being `Aatank Hi Aatank`.
While the official release date for `Coolie` is not announced yet, it is expected to hit the screens in the second half of next year. The film is generating a lot of buzz among fans, and with the addition of Nagarjuna to the star cast, the excitement for the film is only going to increase.

Coolie director announces Nagarjuna’s entry to the film
Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of `Coolie`, took to social media to share a poster and the character name of Nagarjuna. `Coolie` marks the 171st film of Rajinikanth`s career and is backed by the Chennai-based production house Sun Pictures. The film is being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is also known for his successful films like "Master," "Kaithi," and "Vikram."
