Madhuri Dixit on 8-hour work shift in Bollywood
Madhuri Dixit is gearing up for her upcoming digital series, Mrs. Deshpande. Fans are already ecstatic to see her lighting up the OTT screens after seeing her performances in series like The Fame Game.
Amid the ongoing row of women working 8-hour shifts in Bollywood triggered by Deepika Padukone after she walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga`s Spirit, the industry has been questioning the demands, with some supporting the actress`s preference.
Madhuri was asked the same in her recent interview, where she shared she has worked 12-hour shifts for her upcoming series and she was okay with it.

Speaking to ANI, the actress said, “The thing is that when we did Mrs Deshpande, we were working 12-hour shifts every day, like maybe more sometimes... So, I think to each his own. I`m a workaholic. So for me, maybe it`s different, but if a woman has that power and can say, `Okay, I want to work these many hours,` then that`s her prerogative, and that`s her life, and that`s how she wants to do it... Then more power to her.”

Her comments come amid Deepika`s ongoing debate about actresses, especially new mothers wanting to work 8-hour shifts, which became a widely discussed topic.
Addressing the issue, the Piku actress pointed out that many male actors have been following, or rather demanding, the same, and no eyebrows were raised. But "by virtue of being a woman, if that`s coming across as being pushy or whatever, then so be it," she said.
She also pointed out that despite being an `industry`, the film business continues to be highly `disorganised` in many ways.
More about Mrs. Deshpande
Madhuri Dixit teams up with filmmaker Nagesh Kuknoor for the thriller series, which is an Indian adaptation of the French thriller La Mante. Kuknoor is known for making some incredible films like Iqbal and Aashayein.
The thriller series follows the story of a serial killer who agrees to help catch a copycat murderer, but only if she works with her estranged son, pulling them into a tense emotional narrative.
Also starring Priyanshu Chatterjee, Siddharth Chandekar, and Kavin Dave, Mrs. Deshpande releases on December 19 on JioHotstar.
