Kubbra Sait on complications post abortion
Kubbra Sait, the actor who became a household name with Sacred Games, opened up about one of the darkest phases of her life. It was when she went through an abortion and its emotional impact on her.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opened up about her mindset, her mental health condition, and everything in between while taking one of the toughest decisions of her life.
She mentioned not telling or talking to anyone about it and how she felt far from being strong at that moment.
Recalling the troubling incident, Kubbra said, “When I went through the abortion, I don’t think I was being strong at all. I was just too weak to take it forward. I didn’t have the courage or the strength to say that if I don’t do this, then I will live with it. I felt very weak at that time. I felt hollow. I felt like I was not worth it at all."

"But what came out of it much later was strength. That you decided for yourself and stood by your thoughts. You broke stereotypical patterns, you broke societal norms, and no one knew about them. I went by myself and got myself through the abortion. I didn’t tell anyone,” she further added.
The Deva actress also revealed how she never disclosed the same to anyone until a friend brought up the issue during a chat. In the same interview, Kubbra Sait also revealed how the life-altering decision would also come with a baggage of repercussions.
"And no one knew about it, man. I went by myself and got myself through the abortion. I remember about two weeks or three weeks later, I met a girlfriend, and she went on this trip about me not listening. I just told her, and that`s when it hit me. And that`s when I started weeping because I was like, `S***, I`ve not told this to anyone.`." She emotionally continued.
The actor revealed that even 5-6 years post-abortion, she would constantly be cranky and bleed heavily. Even then, she did not share it with anyone.
It was only in her book Open Book: Not Quite a Memoir (2022) that she decided to finally share the story, as she felt it was time to take responsibility for her actions and decisions.
On the work front, Kubbra Sait was last seen in the Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde starrer Deva.
