King Charles Diagnosed With Cancer, Here's What Buckingham Palace Has To Say

With cancer being the recent topic of awareness and discussion, we woke up to yet another unfortunate news story today. Britain's King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer. He spent three nights at the hospital last month after undergoing corrective procedures.

The official social media page of Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles will postpone public-facing duties until he is completely cured. Last month, His Majesty was admitted to the hospital for an enlarged prostate, which was a separate issue.

King Charles was diagnosed with cancer at 75

The statement read that the tests identified the form of cancer however, the palace hasn't revealed the same. Taking it to Twitter, Buckingham Palace issued an official statement.

"During The King's recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," read the statement.

It further added, "His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual."

"The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible. His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer," the statement concluded.

UK PM Rishi Sunak's message for King Charles

The Indian-origin United Kingdom's Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and extended his support to the family. He wished King Charles a speedy recovery.

"Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt he'll be back to full strength in no time, and I know the whole country will be wishing him well," Sunak's tweet read.

The opposition party leader, Keir Starmer, also shared a heartfelt note on social media. He tweeted, "On behalf of the Labour Party, I wish His Majesty all the very best for his recovery. We look forward to seeing him back to swift full health."
