It is a proven phenomenon that when Bollywood meets the South Indian film industry, great content is produced, and Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran`s upcoming collaboration is a testament to something exciting. The two superstars are coming together for Meghna Gulzar`s next film.
The thriller drama starring Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj is titled Daayra. The diva announced the exciting news through an Instagram post, calling it her `dream team collaboration.` The fans were equally excited.
In one of the photos, which looked like a narration, both the actors were seen staring into each other`s eyes with a rather intense and dramatic look.

Sharing the same, Kareena`s post read, "I’ve always said that I’m a director’s actor… And this time I cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, @meghnagulzar, & alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra, let’s do this."
Fans were soon enough to take it to the comments section and express their excitement. One user wrote, "Both my favorites," while another commented, "This is going to be something interesting." Another comment read, "GOAT combination!"
Meghna Gulzar`s cinematic journey
The renowned director, who is also the legendary lyricist Gulzar`s daughter, made her directorial debut in 1999 with Hu Tu Tu. She rose to fame with movies like Talvar (2015), Raazi (2018), Chhapaak (2020), and her latest release, Sam Bahadur (2023).
Over the years, she has worked with several Bollywood biggies like Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan, and Tabu, among others.
After Raazi and Talvar, Meghna Gulzar will be joining forces for the third time with Junglee Pictures for Daayra. The film taps into people`s heartbeats as it dives deep into topical and diabolical realities that unfold in today`s society, exploring edge-of-the-seat crime, thriller, punishment, and demand for justice.
Co-written by Yash and Sima alongside Meghna, Daayra is currently under pre-production.
