Kapil Sharma takes a dig at Lawrence Bishnoi`s gang
Kapil Sharma has been soaring high with the success of The Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix. While everyone is aware of his not-so-subtle flirting with actresses, the comedian even surprised himself with a rather risky joke at the recent Netflix event.
Held on Tuesday in Mumbai, Kapil took a subtle jab at gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang following the firing incident at his cafe in Canada.
The comedian was on stage with Netflix India Vice President of Content, Monika Shergill, who praised him for his long association with the OTT giant.
She joked, “Hamari nazar, India ki nazar toh bahut time se aap par hai, Kapil. Hopefully, 11 mulko ki police ki nazar nahi hone chahiye (We had our eyes set on you for a long time, as did India. Hopefully, police from 11 countries don’t.”

When the audience laughed, Kapil said, “Ek do mulkon ke gangster bhi lage hue hain aaj kal (These days gangsters from one or two countries have their eyes on me too),” hinting at Bishnoi`s gang.

However, realising the sensitivity of the joke, he laughed and asked the videographers to cut this bit, only to realise the event is streaming live and not much can be done.
What happened at Kapil Sharma`s cafe?
In 2025, the actor and his wife, Ginni, opened a cafe in Surrey, Canada. They named the place Kap`s Cafe. Soon after its opening, several shots were fired outside the cafe.
This incident happened not once but thrice in a span of four months in July, August and October. Lawrence Bishnoi`s gang members, Goldy Dhillon and Kuldeep Sidhu, alias Kulveer Sidhu, took the responsibility for the same.
They warned the general public to "stay away" from the restaurant. Many assume this is because Kapil Sharma shares a warm bond with Salman Khan, an arch rival of the Bishnoi gang.
On the work front, Kapil Sharma was recently seen in Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2. Apart from hosting a much-loved comedy show, he will next be seen in Dadi Ki Shaadi.
