Kannappa: A Star-Studded Epic Arrives This Week; Cast, Promotions, and More

The highly anticipated mythological action drama, Kannappa, is set to storm theatres this Friday, June 27, 2025. Described by its makers as `an action-packed epic of a valiant warrior`s journey to devotion and sacrifice`, the film boasts a colossal star cast and a grand narrative that has audiences buzzing with excitement. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by veteran actor Mohan Babu, this pan-Indian spectacle will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and English.
The film also sees Mohan Babu as Mahadeva Shastri and Sarathkumar as Nathanathudu. The star power is further amplified by explosive cameos from Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, and Raghu Babu, promising a cinematic experience like no other.
One of the most talked-about aspects of Kannappa is the special appearance by pan-India star Prabhas. He plays the character of Rudra, whose arrival is said to be a turning point in the journey of Thinnadu, played by Vishnu Manchu. While details of his role are shrouded in mystery, with speculation that he might be portraying Rudra Pasupati Nayanar, one of the 63 revered Nayanar saints, his intense look in the trailer has already captivated fans. For Prabhas, the story of Kannappa holds a deep personal connection; his late uncle, Krishnam Raju, delivered a legendary performance as the devotee in the 1976 classic Bhakta Kannappa.
The anticipation surrounding Prabhas`s role has reached a fever pitch. In a remarkable display of admiration, his fans in Vizag are erecting a massive 40-ft cutout of the actor at Kinnera Theater, set to be unveiled just before the film`s release.

In the lead-up to the film`s grand opening, actor Vishnu Manchu undertook a profound spiritual journey, visiting all twelve Jyotirlingas across India. He recently completed his pilgrimage at the Sri Sailam Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple. Sharing his experience on Instagram, Manchu wrote, “Twelve Jyotirlingas. One journey. Eternal peace...My heart is full. My soul feels blessed.
