In a concerning turn of events for the highly anticipated Vishnu Manchu-starrer Kannappa, a hard disc containing crucial footage has reportedly been stolen just a month before its scheduled release. This incident, which has sent ripples through the entertainment industry, occurred under the jurisdiction of the Film Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad.
Alarmingly, Charitha has been absconding since taking possession of the hard disc. Reddy Vijaykumar, Executive Producer of Twenty Four Frames Factory Private Limited, has filed a complaint with the Film Nagar Police, alleging that Charitha disappeared with the intention of damaging the project. The hard disc reportedly holds unreleased, confidential, and highly sensitive data related to Kannappa, and its compromise could lead to "irreparable financial loss" for the company. A criminal case has been registered against Raghu and Charitha under Section 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) of BNS.
While the production team grapples with this unfortunate incident, lead actor Vishnu Manchu was seen visiting a temple in Jharkhand`s Deoghar. Sharing a picture collage on X (formerly Twitter), Vishnu posted, "Visited Shree Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga – a divine moment at one of Shiva`s holiest abodes. Har Har Mahadev." He captioned it with "#HarHarMahadev #Kannappa," seemingly seeking divine intervention during these trying times.

The team, including Vishnu, actor-producer Mohan Babu, Prabhu Deva, and executive producer Vinay Maheshwari, recently met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and provided a glimpse of the film`s making. Kannappa will be a multilingual release, available in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and English. Despite the recent setback, promotions and other work for the film are continuing as planned.
The Disappearance of Crucial Footage
According to reports, a VFX vendor from Mumbai, Hive Studios, dispatched the hard disc to the office of Twenty Four Frames Factory Private Limited in Filmnagar via DTDC courier. DTDC records indicate that the parcel arrived at the office on Sunday, March 25. A staff member, Raghu, received the courier and subsequently handed it over to a woman named Charitha.Alarmingly, Charitha has been absconding since taking possession of the hard disc.
