Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara starrer Jawan is on a mission to break every box office record across the globe. If a thousand feathers in a hat were not enough, Jawan has now gone on to add one more to it by becoming the second-highest grossing Indian film in 2023. The first one remains SRK's Pathaan.
Jawan has successfully zoomed past Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 to become the second-highest grossing film of 2023. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer saw a terrific first week, collecting over 650 crores worldwide. The box office collection of Jawan in India is around 364 crore net and 215 crore overseas.
Ever since the movie was announced, Jawan was presumed to be a box-office breaker. However, these kinds of monstrous numbers have shocked the industry and movie critics. In less than eight months, SRK has delivered yet another blockbuster hit after Pathaan, which is on its way to becoming the highest-grossing Indian movie ever.
Trade analysts are sure of Jawan crossing the 1,000 crore mark by this weekend. This year has acted like an anchor for the once sinking Bollywood. 2022 was dominated by the boycott Bollywood trend, which largely affected many movies like Laal Singh Chaddha, Vikram Vedha, and more.
In such critical conditions, the Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year.
The actor is now all set to collaborate with Rajkumar Hirani on Dunki, which fans are betting will be yet another massive entertainer. 2023 looks even more promising with movies like Animal, Tiger 3, Dunki, Merry Christmas, and more lined up.
