As Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Ali Zafar have starred in Indian films and garnered much appreciation, many Indian actors have collaborated with the Pakistani film industry over the years. The film industry in Mumbai and Lahore functioned just as one before the partition in 1947, with major films coming out of both of these banners.

Now, with rising political tensions, it has become difficult for any kind of cross-pollination between the two countries. That has resulted in artists not being allowed to perform in either country. But things were not as complex before.

With the Pakistani cricket team making its arrival in India after a long gap for the World Cup, tensions between the countries have eased a bit.
Here are some Indian actors who have worked in Pakistani films:

1) Kirron Kher

The noted Indian actress, who has starred in films like Veer Zaara and Main Huun Na, was seen in the Pakistani film Khamosh Pani (2003). The film was very well appreciated, and Kirron Kher won the Best Actress award for it at the Locarno International Film Festival.

2) Naseeruddin Shah

The veteran actor has played all kinds of roles ever since his debut in 1975. In 2007, he made a cameo in the Pakistani drama film Khuda Ke Liye. It also had Fawad Khan, Shaan Shahid, and Iman Ali in the lead roles. Naseeruddin Shah also acted in Zinda Bhaag, a Punjabi-Pakistani drama film that was released in 2013.

3) Om Puri

The legendary actor, who has given us many gems, made his debut in Pakistani films with Actor-in-Law. In the film, he plays the role of Sukhia. The film was released in 2016 to critical acclaim. It also did well at the box office.

4) Shweta Tiwari

Known for her India television serial, Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Shweta Tiwari acted in the Pakistani film Sultanat. It was a romantic action film that was directed by Syed Faisal Bukhari and released in 2014.

5) Arbaaz Khan

Son of legendary screenwriter Salim Khan, Arbaaz starred in the Pakistani action film Godfather: The Legend Continues. It is an Urdu-Pakistani film directed by Hriday Shetty.
