The advance booking of Dunki has started in full swing, and the film has already managed to get over Rs 5 crore for the tickets sold on the opening day. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani, besides Shah Rukh Khan. It is all set to release this Thursday, December 21.

The much-awaited collaboration between 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan has kept everyone excited as to what the film promises to be. It is a treat to fans of both of them, as Hirani's last film was released in 2018, and since then he has been working on Dunki. Finally, as the film releases this Thursday, it is showing a great pre-buzz.

Shah Rukh Khan calls Dunki 'His Kind of Film'

Shah Rukh Khan has been maintaining a low profile with the promotion of Dunki, as he had done during his last two blockbusters this year. He promoted the film in Dubai and was seen dancing in front of a crowd of thousands who cheered for him as he danced to his classic song Chaiyya Chaiyya and other songs from Dunki.

Speaking about it in Dubai, he reflected on how he made Jawan for all the youths out there. It had a stylistic presence that was more appealing to youth. After Jawan, he felt he wanted to make something for himself now, which he did with Dunki. "Dunki is very close to my heart," he added.

Dunki has managed to sell over 1.86 lakh tickets in a total of 7855 shows across the country on the opening day. Dunki clashes with Prabhas starrer Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire at the box office as it releases a day later, on December 22. Both films are expected to give a tough fight to each other, and the advance booking of Salaar has also shown a lot of promise.

It remains to be seen if Shah Rukh Khan will hit a hattrick this year with his third release. All the excitement among fans and even the early advance booking numbers point towards a blockbuster already.

Shah Rukh Khan has made a massive comeback this year with the release of Pathaan, which shattered all records at the box office. He followed it up with Jawan, which did even better and currently ranks at number one in the highest-grossing films of the year.
