The first drop from Dunki was released recently and was appreciated by fans who got to see the much-awaited first look of the film. It was especially exciting to see the character of Shah Rukh Khan play an important role. Moreover, fans cannot wait to see the collaboration between Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan finally take place.

As with every film with a popular star like Shah Rukh Khan, the budget is usually on the higher side. However, Rajkumar Hirani has managed to make the film on a very low budget.

The Budget of Dunki

As with every big film, there were a lot of speculations about the budget of Dunki. The film was shot rapidly in a quick succession of over 75 days. Rajkumar Hirani planned the schedule of the film alongside Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, making it quicker for the film to complete. Due to all of these factors, the film was made with a budget of just 85 crores.

This amount excludes the salaries of actors and the director himself. This is quite a benchmark in terms of saving money for a film like Dunki that has Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. This will be Shah Rukh Khan's lowest-budget film in the last six years since Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Rajkumar Hirani's films are known to be low-budget, as there are no special effects or action scenes that consume money. He plans his films so that they don't consume much time or money, making it easy for the producers.

The budget of Jawan was over 300 crores, while that of Pathaan was 270 crores. Dunki is nothing compared to these mammoths. Moreover, Dunki is already profiting even before its release. Due to the pre-sale of its non-theatrical rights, the film has already made over 100 crore. After its release, it will only add on to this number.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in important roles. It is based on the illegal immigration of people to the USA. The film is all set to hit theaters during the Christmas season on December 21.
