On Thursday, the RamLeela couple took to Instagram and revealed Deepika Padukone is due in September 2024. Her post was all about baby icons and announcing their pregnancy.

Times when Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh spoke about starting a family
The couple has been married for over five years. They tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony in Lake Como around their close friends and family. They have often spoken about their love for children.

The actress has time and again mentioned how she would love to embrace motherhood.

1. When Deepika Padukone hinted at starting a family
In an old interview with Vogue,
the Fighter actress opened up about starting a family with her husband. The discussion also touched upon her aspirations for raising children and instilling positive values in them.
When asked if they were planning to embrace parenthood, she smiled ear-to-ear and said, "Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.'
Speaking about values, Deepika emphasized the importance of having a grounded upbringing and a simple life in the way she and her sister were raised.
2. When Ranveer said he wanted a daughter
In an interview in 2021, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor revealed how he would like to become a father and start a family. Ranveer Singh said he has already started thinking of baby names.

In yet another interview, the Pathaan actress spoke about her love for kids and becoming a doting mother. She said it will happen when it has to.
"Motherhood trumps being married. That's what I hear from people who have had children. Of course, it will happen at some point, but no, I think it is unfair to put women through that or a couple through that. I guess the day we stop asking the questions is when we will bring about change," DP added.

"I don't think there is anything to tackle, honestly. As people in the public eye, you are anyways so used to constant speculation. Sometimes, things are true, and people probably second-guess or assume something even before you have said it yourself, and sometimes, it's absolutely untrue. That's the nature of the business that we are in," the mommy-to-be added.
