Darsheel Safari opens up on not being a part of Sitaare Zameen Par
Darsheel Safary was one of the reasons why Taare Zameen Par was a huge success. It was his goofy self that brought the character and story to life. The film was one of a kind that touched upon dyslexia and how it often goes undiagnosed.
Following the movie`s success, Aamir Khan brings back the similar kind of flavour with Sitaare Zameen Par after 18 years. This time, the movie speaks about normalising Down syndrome and other physical deformities.
But, just like us, did you miss Darsheel Safary in Sitaare Zameen Par? The actor got candid about not being a part of the film and revealed that there were days when he thought "it might`ve been cool to be a part of the film".

The 28-year-old spoke about wanting to be a part of Aamir Khan-Genelia D`Souza`s latest release. He also mentioned how he spent days thinking about what if he could`ve been a part of the film.
In an interview, Safary said, “Having possessiveness is a natural emotion, so there might have been days where I thought, ‘It’d have been cool if I was a part of Sitaare Zameen Par. But then, if you look at the bigger picture, you are delivering the best product in the most natural, organic way. If it doesn’t fit, it just doesn’t."

He also spoke about his journey with Taare Zameen Par, which marked his Bollywood debut. He called himself a `medium` for the film becoming a huge success.
“I have always known that this film, Taare Zameen Par, is not about me… Main bas ek zariya tha (I was just a medium). All our characters in Taare Zameen Par were mediums. It was never mine," he added.
Darsheel continued, "That’s what Aamir sir must have thought while making the film, because their decision matters and the audience should have fun. I am all okay with me not being a part of Sitaare Zameen Par. I just feel lucky to be a part of that legacy."
