The producer of the 2002 release Suneel Darshan got candid about the ex-couple's past and revealed the real reason of why the two couldn't make their relationship work. He blamed their lack of chemistry and understanding.

He said they were all set to get married and the filmmaker had even attended their egngagement. However, Karisma and Abhishek were somehow never meant to be as there was constant bickering on the sets and even after. "They were really not the 'made for each other' kind. There was constant bickering. Maybe that's how some people are. I always wondered if they are really the 'made for each other' kind of pair. Abhishek is a sweet fellow. Lolo (Karisma's nickname) is a very nice person too. But maybe some things are destined,' Suneel said.

After things didn't work out for the couple, they went on to marry their respective partners. While Abhishek married the love of his life, Aishwarya Rai, Karisma tied a knot with businessman Sanjay Kapur. The latter divorced in 2016.
